Unit 6
Sightseeing
Period 1
Speak like them!
A: Good afternoon, do you have any information about sightseeing in the city?
B: Good afternoon, do you have a travel brochure which you can take along?
A: What brochure? I have nothing that I can refer to… Should I find a local guide?
B: Well… not exactly. The transportation in this city is quite convenient. Please take this.
A: Wow! A city travel brochure. A thousand thanks!
B: Our pleasure. You may follow the instructions and take a subway tour in the city.
A: Yep! the way, may I hitchhike to that town next to the city?
B: Um… usually we don’t recommend tourists to do hitchhiking here.
A: Oh… I did it thousands of times in America though…
B: But you are in Asia now, and hitchhiking isn’t so popular here.

1. Yep
(1) A: Do you want to go to my hometown and visit my parents?
B: Yep, when?
(2) A: Lucy, come here. Let me tell you a secret.
B: Yep, what?
2. hitchhike to …
(1) A: Once my friend and I tried hitchhiking, but no car stopped for us.
B: Oh, you are so unlucky.
(2) A: I hope one day I can hitchhike to the coast.
B: Really? I like this idea, too.
